Krka National Park

Krka is the seventh national park in Croatia. Because of travertine waterfalls of river Krka, diverse landscapes, compound of water and greenery, cultural and historical sites, national park Krka was declared a national park in 1985. The national park covers an area along the river Krka which flows through the picturesque 75 kilometers long canyon creating waterfalls; Bilušića buk, Miljacka, Brljan, Rošnjak, Manojlovački slap, Roški slap and the largest travertine barrier in Europe – waterfall Skradinski buk. Beauties of this national park are available for visitors throghout the year. For those more curious there are available organised tours with excursion boats to waterfall Roški slap, to fortress Trošenj, to monastery Krka and to the island Visovac. The most attractive parts of the national park Krka are waterfalls Skradinski buk and Roški slap, but you will be delighted also with medieval fortresses, mills, religious monuments, archeological sites, etnographic presentations, walks on educational trails, enjoyment in gastronomic pleasures offered by restaurants. National park Krka is a place of harmonious nature, blend of green waterfalls and karst area, a place that has preserved its beauty despite storms and hardships faced during the history and it’s a place that will surely attract the attention of visitors for a long time.

Where is situated, accomodation

National park Krka is situated in the area of Šibenik – Knin county, covers an area of 109  of the river Krka and the lower course of river Čikola. National park is situated northeast from Šibenik, distance is a few kilometers. National park Krka has five entrances; Skradin, Roški slap, Lozovac, Burnum and Kistanje. There is no accommodation facilities in national park. It is possible to stay in two hotels situated near the national park. Other accommodation facilities situated near the national park are; family pensions, apartments and campsites.
